Letter from your President

Lou Maggio

Thank you to everyone who attended our sold-out 2025 Sports Club of Tampa Bay Hall of Fame Induction Banquet. It truly was a huge success, and a good time was had by all! For those of you that missed it I urge you to go to our video page and watch the show it in its entirety. Hosted by our outgoing President, Brandi Winans and our amazing emcee JP Peterson you will be entertained and inspired by the acceptance speeches of this All-Star class of inductees.

As the club enters its 65 th year of existence I am truly honored to be its new President. Following a great leader like Brandi Winans will not be an easy task but along with an amazingly talented Board of Directors I know we can keep this organization on the current path of success it now enjoys. As Tampa grows in leaps and bounds it is so important to preserve its rich history to the flock of newcomers moving here. Bringing in new and active members will be the life blood of this Club and the way to that is to host them to an event or better yet have them check out our website. As they will learn the history of our organization is truly the history of Sports here in Tampa Bay.

Sincerely,
Lou Maggio
President

Since its founding in 1961, as the Bayshore Optimist Club, the Sports Club of Tampa Bay has provided over 1 million dollars to youth, charitable organizations, and especially the Boys and Girls Club of Tampa Bay.

Our annual Hall of Fame Banquet each March, in which we induct local and professional sports legends from the Tampa Bay area into the Hall of Fame, raises thousands of dollars for the Boys and Girls Club.

In addition, the Club recognizes the University of South Florida and the University of Tampa. The Club provides monetary donations to both Universities.
